Dr. Heather is trained in a style of acupuncture, APM, that goes beyond the typical acupuncture treatment to alleviate pain. She utilizes the body's immune system to decrease inflammation and increase blood flow. She also uses specific techniques to treat "knots" or trigger points in the muscles. Dr. Heather treats from a truly holistic point of view, looking at the underlying root of the pain, where the symptoms are, and how to prevent it from worsening or recurring.

The most common pains we see are those related to the back and spine. Whether it is the low back, the neck, or the sciatic nerve we look at how we can treat the inflammation at the spinal level as well as the pain at the muscle level. Every patient is different, so treatment plans can vary depending on the patients experience with their symptoms.

Headaches and migraines can be triggered by many different things. Each person is unique in their experience of their headaches/migraines. Dr. Heather takes time to understand your unique situation to development a treatment plan to treat and manage your symptoms, as well as help you with how to help yourself outside of acupuncture treatment.
We Now Offer Reiki!
Reiki is a Japanese Energy medicine. Similar to acupuncture, Reiki moves your energy or ki (qi) around. It can promote relaxation, remove emotional blocks, improve awareness and much more. We are offering it on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
About Us
Heather Shoup, D.Ac., L.Ac.
Heather is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Licensed Acupuncturist in Pennsylvania. She was born and raised in the Lehigh Valley, PA. She attended Lehigh University where she graduated with a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Religious Studies (Eastern Religion). Healing has always been a goal of Heather's. Whether it be working with mental health or the developmentally disabled, helping others has been a passion of hers. Prior to embarking on her career as an acupuncturist Dr. Heather provided family therapy to families in the juvenile justice system as well as supervising at a clinic in New York City that provided clinical services to adults with developmental disabilities/
In an effort to further her goal of healing others, Dr. Heather sought a career in acupuncture. She went on to receive her M.S. in Acupuncture from Tri-State College of Acupuncture, in New York City. She received extensive training in 3 styles of acupuncture including Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture Physical Medicine, and KM Japanese Style acupuncture. Dr. Heather was taught directly by Master practitioners and the founders of Acupuncture Physical Medicine, and KM style acupuncture. She decided to further her acupuncture education by obtaining her Doctorate of Acupuncture from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Dr. Heather has also received a certificate in Oncology Acupuncture from Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital in New York City.
Dr. Heather is committed to a life of learning, in order to reach her goals as a healer.
